Fuelling global turf talent

Diversity

It’s not by chance that talented turf leaders spring up in all four corners of the globe.

In almost all cases, it’s a result of hard work, education, mentoring and a desire to explore the truly global nature of the golf industry.

But, for many of these now superintendents, there’s something else that unites them – The Ohio State Program.

For more than 30 years, the Syngenta-supported Ohio State Program has identified upcoming turf talent from 21 different countries and given them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the finest courses in the United States. These individuals work with and learn from some of the top people in the profession.

We caught up with Program Manager Mike O’Keeffe to find out what makes a future turf leader, the importance of mentoring in the profession and the value of being a part of a global network.
