Paralegal to Superintendent: Meet Nancy Miller

Diversity

Embarking on a career change at the age of 45 is a daunting prospect for anyone. Arguably more so for Nancy Miller, who waved goodbye to a comfortable office job to retrain and enter into the heavily male-dominated turf industry of the late 90s.

Armed with a steely determination and a drive for success, Nancy worked her way through the ranks to become Superintendent of Maple Leaf Country Club in Florida. A position she held for more than 17 years.

Now retired, Nancy reflects on her career, issues action points to the industry on how to encourage greater diversity and shares some wisdom and guidance for aspiring young female turf professionals.
