Meet Fame

Growing Golf
Meet Fame Tate

Fame has always been driven.

Whether it was inside a classroom, on the netball court, hockey field or golf course - Fame excelled.

But golf was where her talent really shone through. She joined a golf club member at the age of 10, and by the age of 14 she was a scratch golfer.

In her late teens, she chose to combine her academic and sporting talent and gained a scholarship to study a degree Physical Education and Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University. A degree she would reluctantly curtail in pursuit of a professional golfing career.

Fame turned pro off a handicap of +5, and shortly after earned a tour card for both the Ladies European Tour and Asian Tour.

After several years on tour with mixed success, she was forced to retire in 2010 with a shoulder injury.

New beginnings

The abrupt end to Fame's playing career presented new challenges, but new opportunities too.

She ventured into journalism as well as golf coaching, before embarking on a Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies at the University of Birmingham.

It was there that Fame was first introduced to (and captivated by) business management. Just months later, the opportunity to purchase her very own business, Stanedge Golf Club, arose.
