Golfzon Social, a new golf entertainment and hospitality concept, has announced plans to open its third U.S. venue in New York City in 2024.

Golfzon Social (GS) is a strategic partnership between Golfzon, a South Korean golf simulator manufacturer, and Troon Golf, a global golf management and leisure services provider.

It opened its first venue at The Palisades Center shopping mall in West Nyack, New York, in February 2023.

The venue features 22 Golfzon TwoVision simulators and a bar and restaurant serving craft beers, cocktails and shareable food platters alongside showing televised sports.

“The Palisades Center location is a showcase for the vision we will be bringing to many more facilities in the near future,” said Tommy Lim, CEO of Golfzon North America.

“While golf is at its core, the facility caters to everyone who is looking for a fun and relaxing time, regardless of their prowess on the course.”

Golfzon Social opened its second outlet in Scarsdale, New Jersey, in August 2023 and says Brooklyn, New York, is next.

Lim says it is part of an ‘aggressive plan’ to roll out locations in multiple cities across North America.

Golfzon Social has entered the North American market just as golf hit an all-time high in popularity.

The National Golf Foundation (NGF) has reported a historic shift in U.S. golf participation, away from traditional on-course play and towards off-course and entertainment-driven venues.

NGF’s Graffis Report 2023 revealed that off-course participation rose 13% to 27.9 million in 2022, surpassing traditional on-course play for the first time.

Golfzon and Troon Golf describe their venues as the ‘most social experience in golf,’ and have harnessed the growing consumer interest in competitive socialising by launching local and national golf leagues and virtual tournaments.

Golfzon Social venues cater to groups of any size and offer golf coaching, social and corporate memberships and a range of themed experiences including dance parties, college football nights, family sessions and wine tastings.

“We’ve taken everything into account with the opening of Golfzon Social, from partnering with the best simulator brand in the world to curating an atmosphere and food / beverage options that provide something for everyone,” said Tim Schantz, President and Chief Executive Officer, Troon. “The off-course entertainment trend is only growing and Golfzon Social is set to become a major player in the space.”

A recent report by Custom Market Insights has predicted that the global golf simulator will double by 2030 and be worth $3billion to the economy.
