Jamie Taylor: A golfing ‘unicorn’

LPGA Professional Jamie Taylor chose golf to make an impact.

Not just the sweet sound of a well-struck golf shot type impact, but more importantly, as a young, black female, through her work in attracting and retaining golfers.

“As a professional who ran a golf course, that was something that people always identified with me by saying: ‘Oh my gosh, you’re a woman, you’re a black woman, I was a unicorn to them!’” 

Taylor used her identity to draw more women in, and even brought in newcomers aged three and up, as her work continues to grow the game to new markets.
